Good to know

A locksmith workshop on Regency Road

We work out of a workshop at Unit 4, 610 Regency Road, Broadview. Our locksmiths start the day there before the vans head out to homes and businesses across Adelaide.

Every job is done by a qualified locksmith. We rekey and change locks, cut car keys, fit access control and safes, and open doors for people who are locked out.

The workshop has a showroom with locks, safes and electronic locks on display, and we cut keys there. It has disabled access.

From hand-filed keys to card readers

Nelson Locksmiths started in Adelaide in 1860. Since then the city has been through two world wars and the Depression, and the locks on its doors have gone from lever locks and hand-filed keys to restricted master key systems, electronic locks and card readers.

Lockey and the old slogan

The running locksmith on our logo is Lockey. He’s on the side of our vintage panel van, next to the old slogan: “Fast and Friendly Service Since 1860”.

What happens when you call

Ring 08 8410 3333 or fill in the booking form. Tell us your suburb, the door or the car, and what has gone wrong. If it’s urgent, we send a locksmith. If it can wait, we book a time that suits. The workshop is open Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm.

We tell you what the lock needs once we’ve seen it. Often that’s a rekey rather than a new lock. If it’s worn or damaged, we say so and replace it.
